I read the Tribune daily (over morning coffee) and I literally cannot remember the last day when someone hasn't been shot. At least one person. Coming from Providence, that's shocking. However, the Tribune website allows anyone to post comments under any story, and it seems like plenty of Chicago natives and longterm residents are taken aback as well. I don't know what to make of it... the murder rate in Rhode Island was, as you might imagine, pretty low. Murders were followed as ongoing stories because they were noteworthy. Here they just pop up in a small article and vanish just as quickly... even the horrific ones.
